Starting VTuber from your mobile devises?

On November 13th in Japan time, Japanese mobile gaming company called TryFort inc introduced live stream app named “GooMe”.

GooMe is an app that everybody can be VTuber. How it works is just open an app on your mobile devises and take a selfie.

Before, we needed VR machine to express body language as a virtual character, however this app include motion capture and 3D conversion technology, so  not only works for facial expression, but also realistic body language. And we can go on live stream and turn into a virtual character just to put your mobile device camera on your face.

Live streamer and viewer can both use the app for free, but how live streamer make money is a donation (¥5 JPY – ¥10,000 JPY) from viewer.

There are over 5,000 active VTubers in Japan as of September in 2018, and in reality it seems like half of them have less than 100 subscribers, which is way below number to be eligible to get adsense.

Mr. Yasukawa from Development division from TryFort says that the purpose of their development of the app is to give more people an opportunity to start live streaming as a virtual character from all over the world.

They’ll actually start providing service at the end of this month.

It might be an good opportunity to start with, for those who want to start casually first.

As you grow your fanbase there, we’ll be happy to help develop more on other platform with professionally made virtual character.
